Description

Perioperative Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS): Elevating the Standard in Anesthesia

Embrace the transformative potential of POCUS in perioperative care. As a practicing anesthesiologist, mastering POCUS empowers you to promptly diagnose and manage complications, enhancing patient safety and ensuring the best outcomes.

What You’ll Learn:
– Integrate POCUS seamlessly into your daily perioperative practices.
– Apply focused ultrasonography techniques to diagnose critical issues, from lung challenges to gastric, abdominal, bladder, and cardiac complications.
– Move beyond rigid ultrasonography protocols. This course teaches you the flexibility of a question-driven approach. Pose a clinically relevant question, use the ultrasound transducer to seek the answer, and then swiftly return to patient care.

Clinical Questions Addressed:
Heart:
– Presence of pericardial fluid collection?
– Reduced left ventricular function?
– Indications of pulmonary embolism?
– Symptoms of aortic stenosis?
– Signs of left ventricular hypertrophy?
Lung:
– Confirm or rule out pneumothorax?
– Detect or exclude pulmonary edema?
– Confirm or rule out pleural fluid?
Abdomen:
– Is the stomach full?
– Presence of free intraperitoneal fluid?

By the end of this course, you’ll wield POCUS with confidence, precisely addressing the unique clinical challenges you encounter. Join us and redefine the boundaries of anesthesia care.
