Perioperative Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS): Elevating the Standard in Anesthesia

What You’ll Learn:
– Integrate POCUS seamlessly into your daily perioperative practices.
– Apply focused ultrasonography techniques to diagnose critical issues, from lung challenges to gastric, abdominal, bladder, and cardiac complications.
– Move beyond rigid ultrasonography protocols. This course teaches you the flexibility of a question-driven approach. Pose a clinically relevant question, use the ultrasound transducer to seek the answer, and then swiftly return to patient care.
Clinical Questions Addressed:
– Heart:
– Presence of pericardial fluid collection?
– Reduced left ventricular function?
– Indications of pulmonary embolism?
– Symptoms of aortic stenosis?
– Signs of left ventricular hypertrophy?
– Lung:
– Confirm or rule out pneumothorax?
– Detect or exclude pulmonary edema?
– Confirm or rule out pleural fluid?
– Abdomen:
– Is the stomach full?
– Presence of free intraperitoneal fluid?

Precourse qualifications
No prior ultrasound experience necessary.

You will get access to the e-course a few months before the course day. This must be completed before the hands-on training.

Certification
You will get a certificate by email after completion of the e-learning and the workshop.
