ISURA Perioperative Point-of-Care Ultrasound Course 2026

A comprehensive 2-day perioperative point-of-care ultrasound course combining self-directed online learning with extensive hands-on training.


Included USabcd E-learning

Participants receive access to approximately 8 hours of pre-course online learning, including:

  • Basic Point-of-Care Ultrasound
  • Focused Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE)
  • Lung Ultrasound
  • Gastric Ultrasound
  • FAST Examination
  • Airway Ultrasound
  • Diaphragm Ultrasound

The online learning component is delivered through USabcd and is designed to prepare participants for the intensive hands-on workshop in Toronto.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this course participants should be able to:

  • Describe the basic principles of ultrasound imaging for airway assessment.
  • Acquire lung ultrasound skills for evaluating hypoxemia.
  • Apply gastric ultrasound to assess gastric contents and volume.
  • Recognize intra-abdominal free fluid in trauma.
  • Perform focused TTE to assist in the evaluation of shock states.
