COMBINED 2 DAY COURSE – BASIC FATE (FOCUS ASSESSED TRANSTHORACIC ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY), LUNG ULTRASOUND, ADVANCED POINT OF CARE ULTRASOUND (POCUS) and SIMULATION
FATE is the original focused cardiac ultrasound protocol practiced since 1989. FATE is learned quickly and easily and can be applied in a multitude of clinical scenarios: perioperative as well as in intensive care medicine, emergency medicine and resuscitation. FATE also provides a quick guidance to interpret sonocardiographic findings and how to put them into clinical context.
Day 1 (Basic FATE and Lung Ultrasound) will teach basic two dimensional imaging of the easiest cardiac views, plus lung ultrasound interpretation. The majority of course time is dedicated to small group (max of 4 participants) hands-on practice sessions on live models.
On Day 2, attendees will have the opportunity to learn advanced Point of Care Ultrasound techniques, including abdominal/FAST exam, airway ultrasonography, as well as analysis and quick diagnosis of a decompensating patient using the RUSH and BLUE protocols. The final afternoon session will be devoted to simulation sessions using a state-of-the-art sim lab to review and practice skills learned.
Provide the attendees with basic ultrasonographic needs for the non-cardiologist in order to guide cardio-pulmonary optimization in acute settings
WHO CAN ATTEND
Practitioners of all specialties facing acute patients, e.g. anesthesiologists, intensivists, emergency physicians, internists, surgeons, general practitioners.
