Basic Cardiac Ultrasound (FATE – Focus Assessed Transthoracic Echocardiography)
Objective: To provide basic echocardiographic skills for physicians who are not cardiology specialists in order to guide successful cardiopulmonary optimization.
Pre-workshop learning material: All theory is provided in the unique USabcd interactive e-learning concept. The e-learning covers: introduction, equipment and skill, basic imaging views, M-mode, cardiac function and pathology. It must be complted before the hands-on training in order to ensure maximum benefit of the day.
The following topics will be covered in the workshop in groups of 4-5 participants with live models:
- Basic cardiac views including IVC
- Right and left ventricle function
- Basic clinical scenario training
- Pleural scanning
Who can attend?: Physicians from all specialities e.g.: Anaesthesiologists, intensivists, emergency physicians, internal medicine physicians, surgeons, general practitioners. In fact all healthcare workers dealing with hemodynamic problems in their daily clinic.
Precourse qualifications: No prior US experience is required for this course.
