Basic FATE & Basic Lung US - November 10, 2018

The objective is to provide the course participant with basic echocardiographic skills for physicians who are not specialists of cardiology in order to guide cardiac optimization. This includes the basic imaging views and M-mode for cardiac dimensions and ventricular function. Basic lung ultrasound is a simple and systematic sonographic examination of the lungs in trauma and emergency situations. It allows the clinician to perform point-of-care ultrasound in a wide range of patients with respiratory emergencies in order to diagnose and exclude pleural effusion, pulmonary edema and pneumothorax.

Advanced FATE - November 11, 2018

Advanced Focused Cardiothoracic is the next level after you have become familiar with the content of the basic workshop. It enables you to perform a comprehensive hemodynamic assessment of the patient e.g. assessment of the severity of an aortic stenosis or right side pressure increase. You will learn how to assess cardiac output and be introduced to diastolic function with Doppler echocardiography.

Workshop objective
The workshop objective is to provide the attendees with advanced skills for the non-cardiologist in order to perform all extended cardiac views and the most clinically relevant Doppler ultrasound: pressure estimation, assessment of cardiac output and left ventricular diastolic function.
